Re: Any superstripe experts out there?
Randy,
The spectors I've seen do have a very yb'ish belly but maybe less prounouced and more of a blended look...
Some who have stumbled upon it have said they thought it might be a yb prior to breeding it.
Others, such as BHB thought his might be a fire and bred it to a fire first before later proving it to be a spector by breeding to a yb.

Either way he's breeding well right now so I'm sure I'll produce a few offspring out of him.

Mark,
First of all, I'm no expert on SS! But my feeling is no... if i was my snake you can be sure that I'd breed it to a yb first! Or since it is a male, you could breed it to a normal and see if it passes its look on to its offspring. If so, keep back a bunch of the females for yb breedings.

I don't the belly is right, certainly not a homerun... but hey ivories are produced by animals that are "barely" a yellow belly.

I'm pretty sure the belly looks like this...

Re: Any superstripe experts out there?
Yes, note the lack of black marks in the big middle belly scale. Not terribly rare in ball pythons but I'm thinking a pretty universal trait in yellow bellies and probably also specters.
Very interesting about the fire comparison. Gets me more excited about a ch girl I'm raising up. Wish she wasn't only 1,000 grams right now.

Thanks Justin, I kind of was wondering about that. I was surprised when both Ralph and Jared told me it was a possibility, but I know that my luck just isn't that good. Like I said, he's breeding strong right now so it's a done deal and It'll be interesting to see what hatches. Ha, just what I needed, yet another dinkin' around project.
