What's on my BP's eye?
I noticed a small finger-nail shaped white "thing" around on side of Rocky's eye. I couldn't get a good pic, but it doesn't look like shed as it's very white. It's very small and it is lining one side of his eye. Any ideas...
He seems normal otherwise, he just ate today.

sounds like the edge of his eye cap stuck on after a shed

I agree. I've seen that on some of mine occasionally.

It's the edge of the eyecap, as the others said. I helped Mrs. Snake get hers off the other day. The skin appears white around the eye b/c it has a fold in it. The eyecap is most likely still there, too. You can try the shed assist tutorial. Or use a little olive oil and a washcloth. Be very gentle with the eye, but IMHO, you should try to get it off if your snake can't do it on his own. Maybe wait until he digests first?

I disagree with this. If the snake's owner doesn't know for sure that the snake has a retained eyecap, it could be very dangerous to the snake's eye to try and remove it, especially with so many people recommending tape to do it (which I disagree with even more). Also, the scale around the edge of the eye is separate from the eyecap, and can be retained if the eyecap isn't. You CAN very gently wipe with a wet washcloth to see if it comes off, but I wouldn't take it any further than that. It won't hurt anything and should come off the next shed (same with an eyecap).

Re: What's on my BP's eye?
yeah mine has that too some times. its not left over shed around the eyacap its something else that just knda pops out. if you soak it under water for a little it will recede back into the eye. i think its due to minor dehidration. no big deal. DONT TRY TO REMOVE IT! blood will be every were. (i didnt learn this by first hand, i asked a vet) post some pics o it though. it maynot be what i think but it sounds like it.
