Reviving an old thread!! Ok so here's a scenario. I finally got my oil filled heater on a ranco set at 82. What a dream!!!

And I've got temp probes on the hot and cool side as well as a helix on both the hot and cold side.

But like my cold side helix is set at 85. I get 82.5 to 83 degrees on the floor. But the ambient temps are almost a degree higher.

I was wanting to pull that helix and put it on the bloods tub. Would ambient temps of around 83 be ok if the floor temp is a tad lower?

And just have the oil heater keep the cool side temps high enough?

That way I can get the johnson control that's on the bloods tub off and use it as a back up. And also give him some more stable warm side temps.
