New here/beginning ?s
Is it an ok to get a baby ball from a local, respected reptile store? Or is it best to go thru a breeder?
Besides feeding well, what would be some other warning signs and questions before buying a petstore snake?
Also, are females more relaxed than males?...meaning, which sex is the least aggressive?
First post..kinda new here..nice site and forums.

Re: New here/beginning ?s
Well, it's always preferable to get a snake from a good, reputable breeder...but I got my little girl from a reptile store I really trust and she is the greatest!
IF you're going to buy from a store, then you'd want to get a good look at the snake, hold it to check for mites, thinness, temperment or skin conditions, ask about feeding history and see if you can get info on parentage. As for aggression, I've been told that both sexes are just as mellow when cared for well. The main difference between them is that females get bigger.
Welcome to the site, and make sure you read the caresheets here and have the proper home setup with good temps before you get your new friend.

lol no problem honestly id say go through a breeder just because most arent out for a quick buck. Better condition animals also. Im going to say no agressiveness particular to either sex. Oh welcome to BP.net!!!
