    Introduction

Hello BP.net and my fellow herp enthusiasts,

I've been lingering around the forums the last week or so with no introduction. So hi, my name is Noel. Uhm... I come from NH, home of NERD! (It's like 40 minutes away!). Basically how I got into BP's was simple. I was in borders books and saw a book on Ball python and genetic morphs and couldn't believe all the science and hoping and waiting and guessing and crossing all your crossables that was involved and it instantly became something that thrilled me. That was about 3 years ago. Since then I did a bunch of volunteer hours at what was RJ's Exotics in my home town and got to learn as much as I could handle about all things reptile. But then the location closed. So I was left to dabble for a few years up until now.

So last week cruising on craigslist I see a Yellow Belly ball python reading to be rehomed and the adoption fee happened to fit my price range. The second I got him home and set up i've had the BP fever. Two days later I got my little precious Charlotte. Who has been nothing but the most adorable little ball of cuteness i've ever seen. I must say I got involved in this for the thrill and chase of producing awesome one of a kind snakes. But I have fallen in love with these little guys.

So fast forward again until yesterday. When I got to introduce my two loversbutts to there new friends.

    and...

(kind of stink at the whole web thing hope you see the pics of the spider and pastel. So thats 4 snakes in 6 days. In total on the four snake them selfs I've spent $1,100. And well worth it in my opinion. I remember when I was getting into this a few years back a high end spider would run you 4k$!! But this hobby is now my money pit.

I've recently contacted 8ball about a breeding pair of 100%het Albinos from 06. And I am in the middle of negotiation on a pair of 100% Het pied breeders... This season hopefully produce some albinos and maybe a pied. Next season who knows. So far this wave im riding is fast and high, but i'm going to ride it all the way out. Nice to meet everyone here and ill have more pictures of my kids up asap.

    Hi Noel!

Great introduction. I'm impressed at your commitment to the herp world, and specifically to the BPs you've 'adopted.' They are obviously very fortunate!

Thanks for sharing the pictures, too. They didn't show because the image link you used was to the web-page they were hosted on, as opposed to the actual picture file. To find the picture file address, visit the photo-bucket page with the picture you want to share (here and here) and then right-click on the picture and select 'view image'. The picture will appear by itself in a new window, and that is the address you want to use when posting an image on the forums.

You can also use the Galleries here to host your pictures.

Here are the pictures that didn't show. VERY nice snakes! The pattern on the pastel is wild!

    Re: Introduction

Wow thanks a lot for the help and support. I know some people who get into this are either in it for the money or just plain dont know what they are getting themselves into. I like the vibe here. It's a lot more focused on the snakes and a lot less focused on there owners. And THANK YOU! for posting those pictures. Like I said I am a noob.

    Re: Introduction

NP about the help. Glad to have you aboard! I agree that this is a wicked site for all things herp, with friendly people clearly devoted to the well-being of their animals. I'm so glad I found this place. I was reading the forums and asking questions for a while before I got my own BP, and thanks to the helpful nature of many dedicated members I was well prepared. (So I owe another round of thanks to all the members myself!)

I have a question about the ear! Is the ear plug more akin to a tattoo - in that it is permanent - or is it more like a piercing which will usually close up on itself if not used for a while?

Welcome from Rye NH! I've been a member here forever but don't post much (read almost everyday though) I remember RJ's - that was a cool place and I got a good deal on frozen rats there a couple times. I didn't realize they closed, I just thought they re-located. That kinda stinks... ah well. You'll like it here!

    Re: Introduction

She's over 4' by 2-4 inches, no idea on exact weight, and a little over 6 years old (got her November '01 when she was tiny) I've never actually had her probed, I got her as a CH baby at the White Plains NY show, guy popped her and told me female so I just assume he was right, lol
