    Re: prekilling

I've had to try pre-killed before, and I used the CO2 suffocation with vinegar and baking soda. Normally I feed live, but I had just switched from 2 weanling rats to small adult rats, so I just felt better about feeding that much larger of a prey item pre-killed instead of live. I felt pretty terrible about doing it though, and my BP's have grown to where they can handle small adults without a problem. They probably could have handled them the first time, but it was just to ease my own mind

    Re: prekilling

I've only ever had to kill two, b/c there was only twice that any of my babies refused... And I did it with head-trauma I almost cried, but I had no where to keep them...

eh....they'll never catch you the first time

I feed live (i know, i know) but if i had to kill a rat/mouse it would be CO2 no doubt.

    Re: prekilling

I feed F/t rats but in the rare event that I am in between orders and I have to kill them I use co2 and they die in a matter seconds.
