The sooner you get them imprinted on rats as feeders the greater luck you will have with them excepting them. If you are having trouble finding rats then yes feed mice. I have a couple that will only eat mice...now they will eat 3-4 every meal and they grow just as well as my rat eaters. I have had trouble trying to get long term mousers taking rats on a regular basis.
