Re: My spoiled brat!
Huge thank you to everyone!
Now I get to feed her desire to be a queen even more, by telling her what good pictures she takes. She looooves compliments.
Jo ~ The pics are definitely worthy of some funny captions. I'm not that great at coming up with good ones, though. And, you're absolutely right. She is a total joy to me. I adore her. Sometimes I just pick her up to carry her around the house, out to check the mail, anywhere just so that she's with me. I guess I'm a bit over-attached.
Pamela ~ When I first began my search for a ferret in 2003, my grandparents hated the idea. I heard everything from, "They stink, they bite, they're ugly...." to some really weird things like, "They'll get out and kill your rats." They wouldn't allow a ferret in the house, no way, nope. Then I gathered a bunch of information, and just called some shelters in search of one. I found one about an hour away from us, and I made my grandfather speak to the lady at the shelter. He agreed I could get that ferret after reading the info and talking to the lady.
Although that ferret (Ben) was estimated to be only five years old, the vet confirmed my biggest fear...he was nine, and that was only an estimate!! I could tell he was rather old. He was very slow, and preferred to just zone out in my lap. He only graced my life for a small handful of months. Towards the end, he was sleeping in bed with me to stay warm, getting antibiotics and I was making him home-cooked meals every day.
That's how ferrets, um, "weaseled" their way into our hearts. I was without one for a year, though. I just needed to take time off from the little fuzzbutts after all Ben and I went through in the short time he was with me.
Ferrets are great. They need a ton of attention, and do require a rather pricy diet, but they're fantastic for someone like me. I work from home (most of the time, i do have a paper route, as well, only 2 hours a night), so my Bella gets to be out for many hours at a time. She's like a little tv comedy show when she gets going.
