i think this will be a test. i want to make sure the fiberglass/carbon fiber hold the humidity and heat. if it does, i might just make and sell a few. i have a local friend who lays carbon fiber and im thinking a few sheet lay'd over the outside would be awesome.
as far as the resin for fiberglass, yes it does have a strong and toxic oder at first. but thats why i stated, lay the fiberglass, bondo which creates a barrier that is somewhat water proof but it also seals off the fiberglass and fix's imperfections. then paint on top of bondo. so pretty much a nice 1/4 layer of fiberglass, sand to even, few layers of bondo, then paint. overall thickness would be descent and should work nicely.
while at work i was thinking, where the heat tape would go i could place a piece of cardboard set to where the heat tape would be placed and layer of that as well so when all is said and done the heat element would be outside the tank underneath and could be swapped if need be. be so awesome not to tape anymore
so you converted the desk or used the desk as is. that is pretty interesting. got pics?

yes i think. if not ill take some. see its a big hunk of rose wood. it had 2 filing cabinets and 2 doors on the other end which was like a mini shelf. its really heavy and wood is like 1 inch thick on top. is dark red and i figure it was supposed to be a office item. well i aquired it and didnt pay a dime. i know it would sell for at least 300+ new. i think i have a few pics of everything before i put the front on it. let me see ............

Snakes have blood, feal fear, breathe air, eat food, drink water, reproduce, and they happen to live in a body which is difficult for the average person to understand. One fears what one doesn't understand. ignorance creates fear. The fear of snakes is not cultivated…we are not born with it…children love snakes, just as naturally as they love dogs and cats. don’t be afraid of a reptile’s tongue…the only animal that can hurt you with its tongue is the human being.

Re: fiberglass tanks
ya my layers are gonna be one layer of vail to keep everything smooth like glass then 4810 (4 layers = 3 times as strong as steal according to are warrenty and advertising) then one layer of vail to seal it thicker then a corvette
it would be a 100 percent water proof at that point i think id do a bleach solution over the hole thing then gelcoat it... done deal...
then 3 screens one each side then the top and a door ill see if i can get away with it tomorow
and if they wont let me do it durn work ... ill just do the 3 layers durn coffee let it dry paint it before i go home... and it will be ready for me to take home the next day
