    Please Help with my Heating

I was wondering if its ok that I have my overtank heat lamp running all day as long with my Heating Pad that is stuck to the bottom. The Temps are at 90 degrees on the hot side of the tank and 80 degrees on the cool side of the tank. I have read that your not supposed to use a heat lamp all the time. I used to use a red heating lamp but now I just have a regular reptile one from petco. Its 75 watts and my snake seems pretty happy, tounge flickering, moving around, never had a problem eating. Please help

You should be fine as long as its not a white light bulb... If its white its going to seem like day time all day/night long... If your using like a red/black/or CHE youll be fine as long as theyre hooked up to a thermostat preventing the light from getting too hot.

Re: Please Help with my Heating

Well I used to use a red light but now since that burned out im using what i think is a white light. Its a Repti basking Spot lamp 75 watt and its just regular colored. Is that okay to be running all the time. I would turn off the light at night but the temperatures drop too much and I would run the heating pad all day too but it only takes up half the cage (warm side) and it doesnt keep the cage warm enough by itself without the light. Please help me because Im getting a new cage next week ( either a 30 gallon or a 20 gallon glass tank) and could start fresh with a new heating setup.
