I have nailed it: the reason that I breed BPs. I was looking at my little '07 holdbacks today, and I just felt this sense of wonder and pride. Without me, chances are these little gems would not be in this world. They owe their very existence to me! This gives me a humbling sense of joy.. this is why I breed ball pythons. Not for the $$. Not just for the heck of throwing two snakes together and going through the motions. But for the pure joy or producing them, and the chance that someone else can benefit from receiving one that you produced. Kind of like lighting the spark that can become the flame for someone who is just starting out..
Sorry; this Turkey Day seems to have turned me into a warm and fuzzy sap. But It is just an awesome feeling to breed these snakes, to do things right, and be rewarded with little snakey faces (and feces!) Last year was my first successful breeding year, and I have high hopes for '07-'08 for myself and all of the other breeders out there.
