    Question on this pairing

    With this statement below the 50% het is now proved to be a normal , correct?
    Clutch 7 Pied x 50% het pied produced 1.4 100% het Pieds

    No, not with just one breeding. They should try again next year and if they get the same results, then more than likely it's a normal.

    I dont know what I was thinking. Would that be the standard to say that after two breeding that a het that did not prove would be a normal? Well with a pied male you are atleast getting 100% hets while trying to prove the female.

    I think most would find it unlikely that you missed the odds two years in a row. It's possible to miss the odds the first year, but probably not in two or three years. And yes, at least you know all your babies are 100% het pied! Still a win/win IMHO!
