Joe, I disagree, it doesn't have to get ugly and that is not my intention. I think people here usually have a bit more common sense when posting here.

    Re: Ethical question

Morally you have to decide what is right and what is wrong. If it's wrong to decieve someone even though you've been decieved yourself, then you should notify them and offer to refund the purchase price. If you feel no responsibility for passing along getting lied to, then there is no moral wrongness and life goes on.

Now ethically, that's another matter completely. Ethically you should notify them and see if they want to work something out or just let things stand. But ethically to be silent would be morally wrong because ethically you need to speak up about wrongs.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

I'd still refund, or exchange. There is no reason to ruin your name, because the 'breeder' you had purchased from before wanted to make a quick buck....Sounds rather snotty, but its in best interest.

Doesn't sound snotty at all. I agree that I would contact the customer and work something out. It just sucks that so many innocent people got taken in this whole mess. Greed is a horrible thing. I do know that when I sell hets, they will be hets I have bred for and can prove they are hets. I know there are people who flip, but it is not something I care to get into.
