    Re: New here..EMERGENCY!!!..

One thing they tend to do is expand themselves to the point where they are wedged tight. They can obviously get out whenever they want. Normally if they are wrapped around something I just put it in their cage and they coome off of it eventually. Unfortunatly a grand piano doesn't fit very easily.

    Re: New here..EMERGENCY!!!..

Well..it's now dark and quiet in here..so now the waiting begins *sigh*
While i'm waiting I have a question..at what age do they stop growing? She's only approx 3 yrs old (we're not sure since the guy who gave her to us 1 1/2 yrs ago wasn't sure but thought she was around 1 - 1 1/2) I'm just wondering if she'll get any bigger. Oh..and i should add that we're not sure she's a SHE either. I'm not comfortable with probing to find out..and she's way too strong for me to attempt to *pop* anything out (nor do i want to try)..so we're just assuming she's a she lol

    Lisa

Ps. Thanx again for all your help. I feel better now knowing she won't die in there lol

That's does not look too bad. You may have to wait her out. Once her head is free and pointed in a direction that she won't get stuck again, I would try the tail trick. Most don't like things messing with thier tails and will work the rest of the way out. Just keep her head from going into something else, and don't pull her.

Glad you got her out OK, now on to securing her cage so she can't escape again

Males will generally get about 3-4 feet long, while females can get BIG. I'm gonna say it's a he, but you never know. Any experienced herper or vet can probe with no harm to the snake.
