Rare Earth is still selling animals. The company exchanged hands when Joe Lewis sold the original company. During the transition, some of the animals were sold off to private keepers, but some remained with the company. The new owner of the company, Brandon Shiflet, has a good bit of animals from the original stock(kimberlies, tristis tristis, tristis orientalis, red and yellow ackies, and pilbaras) and is working on breeding them. Most of the monitors he produces go to people who have been put on a wait list to be notified when they are available, so you never see any public offerings. I had been waiting for the ackies for about 4 months until some became available, and these only became available because someone decided they no longer wanted them.
