    It really makes me mad!!

ANOTHER police officer was shot today, they have some 16 schools on lock down. My mother in law is a sgt for miami dade down here and police officers are getting shot and killed all the time. What is wrong with people now? Why do they feel the need to kill or try to kill those who are there to protect us? I know that police officers can be a pain when your breaking the law, getting tickets, exc but come on be real!

Oh my. That's just terrible and so scary with it being so close to your family. I'll definitely say a prayer that they'll be ok.

If it were me, I would get the heck out of a place like that. As far as I'm concerned Castro can have that mess down there LOL
I'll stay here in the Ozark mtns where the only killings happen if I decide to have vinison for dinner LOL

Re: It really makes me mad!!

well i was born and raised here in south florida its just been in the last couple years the crime has gotten to be out of control, our extended family is all here which makes leaving difficult for me. My husband has made suggestions for us to move Rogers, AS where his father lives out in the booneys, if it werent for the fact our son is in one of the best private schools in South Florida we wouldve gotten the flock out of dodge, our sons will not ever attend a public school so long as we can afford tuition. There have been children under the age of 10 taking weapons to school, harming or killing their class mates, its terrifying. They still dont know where this suspect is but I have already gotten a phone call from the school advising me to wait for their call before picking up E. Because he is in the 3yr old class they were unable to release him at 12 like they usually do.

Its sad to think what this world has come to.. and its not just here, there is crime everywhere. it just makes it all the more scarey when its almost literally in your back yard. In the beginning of the year we were briefed on what would happen in the even of lock down and at the time I rolled my eyes thinking "yeah like that will happen, move onto hurricane prep" and instead of hurricanes, we have this?! The kids should be getting ready for their Christmas and Thanksgiving festival.. not locked inside the school because some cop killer is on the loose, to think this guy is supposed to be in prison serving two life sentances!!!

UPDATE!!!!! MICHAEL MAZZA WAS CAPTURED IN HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA!!! JUST 10 MILES AWAY

As for castro.. ill stay away from that one...

Re: It really makes me mad!!

You know, when I growing up going to school nearly all us guys carried a pocket knife with us to school. Teachers knew it too, it was ok back then. In fact during the hunting seasons, most of us would have rifles in our cars/trucks in the school parking lot and nobody thought anything about it.

Yeah times have sure changed alot in the last 20 years. Ooops! Now you all know pretty close to how old I am LOL

IMHO if more kids would get their little fannies whipped when they mess up there would be less problems

yeah, i get so homesick and ever since i've been in wisconsin, i've wanted to eventually move back to washington (seattle area) but i've been reconsidering... so many crimes around there... do i want to raise kids there? prolly not! so, now, as an alternative, i've been trying to get as many people as i can to move here instead! lol. and my mom is actually gonna come with my lil sisters next summer!!! yay!
