    Karl doesn't eat broccoli

    ....but he does now!

Has anyone else tried the new Ziplock steamer bags? OMGoodness, that makes some YUMMY steamed veggies. Just throw the raw veggies in the bag, and cook for the number of minutes on the bag, toss with a little salt and light butter - WOW!

My co-worker told me that she had made some broccoli using it and her non-broccoli eating members of her family tried it and asked for seconds.

I've just done some more broccoli this evening as well as baby carrots. I can see us eating more fresh veggies now!

    Re: Karl doesn't eat broccoli

I personally love broccoli, and I even I was amazed at just how good it was. The broccoli comes out with that nice bright green color and not overcooked, but definitely cooked.

In fact, we just finished dinner and I put my chicken back up and ate just the veggies and can't wait to have the leftovers for lunch tomorrow!

Robin I love those things. We keep loads of them on had. The corn and green beans are also great.

    Re: Karl doesn't eat broccoli

Um.. well. This is a very interesting topic...
I like broccoli only with chicken, in soy sauce... yum! you should try it! With a little wheat rice (I only eat this kind but white is good too)
Make sure to use chicken breast that is grilled. Personally since I'm on a diet 24/6 (yes, 6 Im off on Sat. ) so I just eat plain old chicken with no spices but if you put salt, and some other spices it's mad good.

The nice thing about these steamer bags, is you can also cook things like fish and chicken in them too. I haven't tried that yet, but hope to.

Steaming veggies is the way to go. We just use a pan and the steamer thingie that sets inside it with the holes in it. Butter and salt help out, but for some things like corn, I simply like to enjoy the natural flavor.
The bag idea sounds like a great way to have them with starting out raw; we usually steam in-pot ones that were frozen.

The bags are perfect for raw, you don't even add water. I'm thinking the smaller bags would be perfect for taking to work for lunches!
