    Feeding Question

We got Chewy a small critter keeper, vines and the CGD. I know to mix it with water but how much water do we mix it with. Also, how much do we offer per night?

A question on baby food. When offering baby food as a treat, is it best to only use fruit baby food?

    Re: Feeding Question

mix the cgd about 1 part cgd and 2 parts water. it might take a little more than 2 parts water to get good consistency--on the runny side is better for hatchlings and younger geckos. for hatchlings (i'm guessing that's what chewy is?) offer about a small bottle cap full every night to every other night--you can keep it in the cage for up to 48 hours. their stomachs are small when they are young, so you don't need to offer a lot at one time.

when giving baby food as a treat offer organic, no sugar added, non-citrus fruit flavors. some people mix turkey or chicken baby food into their gecko smoothies for protein but they usually won't eat it by itself.

    Re: Feeding Question

Thanks. We always have organic baby food around because of the gliders. They get it as treats as well and sometimes we have a little left over, so now we have someone to eat that bit!

Just as a note....CGD smells interesting.

    Re: Feeding Question

I checked the food dish just now and he did eat some. About half of what I offered. I think I have the temps in the room right for him. Right now its ranging between 72 and 75. Humidity is around 40% so I'll mist his cage down.
