UTH temp Question

Hi! I am new to Balls (I have 2 corns). I am setting up a viv for my soon-to be ball and I have an UTH with a rheostat. How hot should the surface of the UTH be when the temp is measured through the glass on the inside of the tank?

I know I saw the answer to this somewhere but couldn't find it again.

It really all depends on your setup. I prefer to keep the surface of the glass in a safe range, so that if the snake should happen to snuggle right down against the glass, there's no chance of getting burnt. This means just using a thin layer of substrate so the heater doesn't have to get really hot in order to warm up the top surface of the substrate.

You want to aim for a basking spot of 90-92....I would try not to let the glass get above 95.
