    temp question

if your snake only spends his time on the warm side does this mean hes too cold and the overall temp needs to be bumped up?

how often should they 'thermoregulate' an be fliping between sides?

What's your heat source? and what are you using to measure the temps on each side?

its the standard kosher setup, 10 gal glass, UTH + CHE 2 identical hides, accurite indoor/outdoor thermometer, zoo-med thermostat.

    warm:91-93.5
    cool:80-83
    50-60% RH

just got him so hes still settleing in, more for future referance. how often should they be moving around? ar we talking hourly, daily, weekly? and if they dont is that fine? or does it mean the temps arent how they like it and they are trying to cool down or warm up constantly

Mine always seems to be on the same side too! Generally the cool side, but I took a day to just watch and ultimately noticed that he actually moved 6 or 7 times in one day! I often think I just missed him going from one spot to another.

    Re: temp question

I wouldnt worry about it at all, as long as your husbandry is up to par and the temps/humidity are where they should be. The bp will do what he/she wants too.

Agreed. An unseen BP is a happy BP.

    Re: temp question

thanks guys, hes actually strting to move around to different places now. into the cool hide occsionaly and i threw in some cut-in-half paper towel rolls he seems to love to curl into real tight, you cant even get him out while hes in one heh.

i think it was mostly him just being freaked about being in a new home and just hiding in the first place he found. its been near a week now and hes starting to chill out overall it seems

    Re: temp question

Ive got 2 who always stay on the warm side and 1 who spends 75% on the cool side. As long as theyre not constantly staying on the cool side and the cool side isnt too cold you will be fine.
