toys
what kind of toys do your slithering friend have (water bowl and hide doesnt count) any unusual toys?
i was thinking about a bonsai tree myself but not sure if that could pose health issues

Re: toys
How about a rubber rat? They should be plentiful this time of year!
Seriously though, a bp gets no benefit whatsoever from "toys". Provide two identical hides, one for the hot side, and one for the cool side, and he'll be fine. BPs are terrestrial, so they don't need anything to climb on. In fact, they seem to be a little clumsy about climbing, and tend to fall off branches occasionally. I do find some of mine on top of their hides sometimes. Any cage decorations that you add will be more for your benefit than theirs.

Re: toys
while floyd is very clumsy, he does seem to like climbing. he's got a driftwood branch he hangs out on sometimes. he used to have a 'herp hammock' that he'd sit on but it didn't last long... didn't really hold his weight. like steve said, tank deco is more for our benefit than theirs. that in mind, we also have some fake plants that pretty much just make cleaning day more of a pain...

Re: toys
Do thermometer units count? Mine seems to take great pleasure in knocking them about and moving them so that I can't read them without opening up her enclosure and picking them up. LOL

Re: toys
Each one of my my snakes has a plasic climbig thing in its cage... I picked em up at petco in the fish dept for like 15$ea... they have like holes in them and are like 1ft tall or so... They all use em so i'll aways provide them for my snakes... As far as toys does my room count? I usually take out like 4 snakes per night (pending feeding/shed) and they get free roam of my room for anywhere between 1/2hr-3... all depends what I'm doing. Its not really toys but Its like play time for them and it gives them exercise so that another thing ill always do.

Re: toys
I have a branch - now and then Dakota will climb about and rub his face against it and climb over his hides.
