Sexing ball pythons????

Hi everyone New to the fourm! I am getting into ball pythons and the lfs has alot but they are unsexed! was wondering with out probing the snake are there ather ways to sex them like in corns with female corns are fatter at the base of the tail???

Probing and popping are the only reliable ways to sex ball pythons.

I dunno what it is, but I seem to be pretty good at sexing adults on sight, based on the tail/vent area... I think of the ones I've actually probed, I'm probably correct at least 85% of the time...

Lori normally probes adults and pops hatchlings. I don't do it because I am scared to death that I will hurt the snake. She also has a little bit more feeling in her hands then I do since I work outside so it is probably best.

Its easy enough if you know what you are doing, but you NEED TO KNOW what you are doing with either practice.

Make sure the person is knowledgable... Experienced... or they can injure your snake permanently.

this one is kinda difficult to do but if you look at the anal spurs to the left and rite of the cloaca. try to see if theyre short and stubby (male) or long and slender (female). this is kinda hard to predict just by looking but its possible. the best methods are the probing or popping methods though. GOOD LUCK!
