    Nice lookin' T.......

Sorry, but the thread belongs in the Invertebrate forum. Don't worry....lots of people enjoy the spiders and will check out your new guy. You just might have to be patient.

If I knew anything about the critters, I'd be happy to input. I doubt you'd find it very helpful if my input was "they give me the willies." That's about the extent of my knowledge of them.

    A. versicolor? If so that's the only spider I'd consider getting just cuz they have awesome colors, but i'm still a little iffy on T's

What kind of information where you looking for?

You've most likely got an Avicularia avicularia there. However, in terms of taxonomy, Avicularia is badly in need of revision...

    Re: Pics of my T

thanks for the responds. i found out alot about this little guy. i jumped on a tarantula forum. i got him in a taller cage now cause the spieces is a climber. but i enjoy him now, he is like my saltwater fish. i can look but no touch.

i held him once when i got him and i didnt think he would be as fast as he is. He almost got away from me.

ill post pics of his cage as soon as i get a new camera!!

    He he,

First time I ever had to open a tank and show one of these to a customer in the shop I used to work in it ended up 5 seconds later with me sitting there with a spider on my head trying to persuade everyone else to either take it off or get me a mirror.

Fast just doesn't describe it but they are gorgeous.

    Re: Pics of my T

looks like a regular avic avic to me. yeah they need the tall space because they're arboreal T's. you can handle them but just be careful because they're fast and are jumpers(only like 1 or 2 inches). and they're tropical animals so keep it humid.

oh and dont be surprised if it shoots poop at you because that's what they do as a defense

just curious...what T forum did you join?
