That's actually a piece of black expanded PVC. Sean uses PVC to build a lot of cages/racks. He gets them in 4'x8' sheets of either black or white. I had him cut down a couple of pieces for me to use as background for my photos and I really like the way they work! They are lightweight (easy to carry around with me at shows), easy to clean (when you have the ocassionaly nervous model that has an accident), and relatively inexpensive. I like to use black or white because everyone knows what black or white should look like so it gives you a good standard to view the animal by.

I've tried several different kinds of backgrounds in the past including black/white velvet (too hard to clean), black/white melamine (works well but the material is heavy), marble (a lot of reflections and really heavy), acrylic (too much reflections), etc. and so far, I like the expanded PVC best still!

Hi Celia,

I found Ball-Pythons.Net by searching for “Sterling Pastel Ball Python” on Google. This thread one was of the first to appear, and I’m so glad it did. I had been hoping to find better pictures of Sterling, and I don’t think I could have found better. After seeing these pictures I registered right away!

Your Sterling is absolutely gorgeous! You must be so proud.

I have been doing a lot of research into Ball Pythons in preparation for getting one of my own. Aside from the technical aspects of proper care, I’ve also been researching the various morphs while deciding which one ‘spoke’ to me the most. I have to say, the Sterling is definitely speaking!

Can you, or kind person who happens to read this thread, be gracious enough to help me with a general price for one of these particular morphs? Male/female price would be helpful.

Again, your snake is just gorgeous (all of them are!) and I’m so happy for you. Thank you very much for uploading these pictures - it really helped me a lot to see such a beautiful little guy.

Re: Sometimes STERLING is a Girl's...

NightLad,
I can tell you that there aren't that many Sterlings running around, but if you are in the market for one, I would expect to pay about $5000 for a female, and $6000-$6500 for a male. Hope that helps.
