update on temps..
ok, with the 75watt bulb over their basking area the temp (on the top of the large basking rock) is currently 97.5. It has stayed steady at that temp the last several minutes but before I turn the lights off for the night I want to make sure it doesnt continue to rise for in the morning I drop new greens & crickets after turning on the lights, get the kids ready for school, and myself for work and we leave.. i certainly dont want them to bake! what is the highest it should be, before getting concerned? i assume you cant control it with a rheostat right? perhaps using a 60watt bulb instead if it gets too hot?
thanks for everything!! at least i got temps up higher

Re: update on temps..
You want it between 110-115. You can get a dimmer for the bulb at Home Depot for about $10 plus tax. Name is Lutron Credenza(Brand and model). You're gettin' there

Between 105-110 is plenty. There is some debate in the beardie world about how hot is too hot. I've never heard anyone have a complaint with that range. Adults tend to like it a little cooler, more like 100-105.
