quick question about getting rid of mites

as you all prolly know i work at a petco well we got 8 bp's in and they all have mites in thier eye sockets. the vet didn't do anything.

is there a cheap way to rid the bp's of these mites?

i have them on paper towels, with a ceramic water bowl and the temp is stable at 92. they all are eating. im trying to get them in there own setup but this is the best i can do for right now.

and ive been soaking them 15 - 20 mins a day prolly have about 45 or so bites and no one else is willing to help me

    Provent-a-mite

I tried 2 things, niether of which worked. Then I tried PAM and haven't had a problem since. Just make sure you follow the instructions exactly.

Re: quick question about getting rid of mites

I used to work at a Petland, so I know what you are going thru. They restricted our budget pretty heavily there too. Heres what I did with what I had to go on. I used gloves to handle, soaked everyone, and sprayed with De Flea Reptile Relief according to package instructions. I then cleaned the cage out completely, put paper towels at the bottom and gave them their hide. I put a very large crock with water and an airstone attached to an airpump in there with them (demand that this water is changed several times a day). Soaking and treating with De Flea every few days had them gone in a week. Hope this helps you its an unfair situation they are putting you in. I worked for a Petco many years ago, in 2000, as the fish and reptile lead. I barely ever talk about the experience because it was so unpleasant. They wouldn't let us treat anything, we basically had to put animals in a back room and let them die. Needless to say, I didn't stay with the company long, and hopefully yours is much better. Good luck!

I would suggest you to buy PAM (Provent-A-Mite) it will eradicate mites for good, treating all stages of development of mites unlike some other products.

Here is where you can get it http://entirelypets.stores.yahoo.net/proventamite.html
