    'Tis hunting season again..

Wow; where did summer go! Mark called me up to announce that his cousins are staying overnight to hunt with him tomorrow.. bow hunting! I feel like it was just springtime for crying out loud! But yes, a chill wind was blowing today and the leaves are all over the front lawn.. time to put away the lawn chairs and garden ornaments..
I can look forward to 2-6 males ranging in age from 19 to 55 sleeping in various parts of the house, making coffee and bacon and eggs at 4AM.. but it does not bother me. It is always just Mark and I out here, and it is nice to have some company.. but they can only smoke outside!! Here's to a few months of having the toilet seat perpetually up and stepping over snorin' bodies; and I can forget walking around the house partially clothed! Cheers to all hunters!

As long as they A: Make me bacon and eggs too, B: Bring me back some venison, and C: Don't mind me walking around half-clothed, I wouldn't mind hunters in my house.
Aah... that's a lie, I hate people in my house. But I'd still take on visitors for venison. LOL.
My son offered to take me out hunting with him this season, to his stands. Thinking of taking him up on it.

    Re: 'Tis hunting season again..

I plan to get out for the Minnesota shotgun season and harvest a nice sized doe.

My brother likes to bowhunt, which I don't have the patience to do, he'll literally sit in a tree from sunup to sundown with no problem. He just got a SWEET buck, he's had some bad luck years past, but karma was on his side this year. He harvested a 9 point, that should be a typical, but one of the brow tines was broken off. Here he is:

We had horrible flooding in South Eastern Minnesota this summer, so my brother donated the meat from this deer to a local butcher that is doing a fundraiser for local relief. That bad boy will be mounted later this year and hanging in my bro's place with pride.
