Oh My Gosh 911 I Just Made A Huge Mistake!

Please help. My ball has been acting weird and his skin has become dull and wrinkly. I think he is starting to shed or something. So I decided to raise the humidity a little. I had some of the reptile spray that came with the cage that said was good to help balls shed. I grabbed the bottel and misted the cage and sprayed a little on him. Then I looked down, I grabbed my bottle of wipe out on accident! I freaked and immediatly grabbed him out of the cage and wipped him off. I dont know what to do! I am so scared! Can I put him back in the cage once it has dried? Is he going to be okay? I really was a light mist. Is he sheading I saw one little bit of skin int here before this happened. Please respond ASAP. Thank you.

I'm no vet but I would think that letting him have a warm bath and then letting him wiggle through a towel after it is over would be the best thing. I use wipeout and it's designed to be reasonably gentle. Let him soak in warm (85-88 degree) water for a bit, then let him squirm through a clean towel. Repeat the procedure again with a fresh towel. Probably don't need to let him sit in the water more than a couple minutes, and it should only be about as deep as he is wide (ie don't make him swim to stay afloat).

FYI all those shedding aids are garbage. Throw em out.

    This is Wipe Out

I doubt it would hurt the snake, seems to be pretty similar in composition to hand sanitizer. A good soak should work. Personally I would probably change the bedding if you sprayed a lot of it on there.

I agree that in regards to commercial shed aids, you don't need that stuff. A lot of companies are unscrupulous about marketing their unnecessary products, and uneducated staff at pet stores are just as bad when it comes to pushing those products.

I use that to clean my hands and then I pickup the next snake afterwards so I dont think it can be that bad, but for sure, I would clean off my snake!
    and maybe even the enclosure...

That reminded me of American Pie when he grabbed the super glue and not the KY jelly... LOL
Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.

Why is it called 'after dark' when it really is 'after light'?

wipe out is designed to be reptile safe. all you have to do is what has been allready said. just give him a quick bath and dry him off and he will be 100% cool.

He seems fine! I was just worried because I could smell ammonia in the spray. Not much but that stuff is toxic. But dang when they shed skin goes everywhere!
