I would not recommend an iguana as a pet for someone young.. in fact I wouldn't recommend an iguana to anyone. They are BIG lizards. Males top out at 6' long, females 4'. They also have a tendancy to become quite aggressive as they hit maturity. A 6' angry lizard is not something most people want to deal with every day.

They also are going to need quite expensive caging, and a lot of food as they mature. They require UV lighting and a diet of fresh greens every day.

If you want a pet lizard, there are far better choices for a young person such as yourself.
