    snake cave question.

ok I just bought a medium exo terra snake cave, and it says it comes with the moss. Im going to clean the cave with water before putting it in, but had a question about the moss. Do I just put the moss in dry like it is now, or wet it a little bit, and let it dry out before putting it in?

    Re: snake cave question.

It doesn't really matter, I spray mine down (damp not drenched) every once in a while, mostly when my guys are shedding, but otherwise I let it dry. Don't soak it or it will get moldy and make sure you replace it when it gets soiled (and it will!)

    Re: snake cave question.

I have two of those caves for my ball python but I dont use the moss stuff anymore. I tried the free sample that came with the caves but it would mold really quick. Probably cause i was getting it too damp but now I just use papertowels. Much easier to clean and the moss had a tendency to smell kinda bad. I just replace the papertowels twice a week. Run them under hot water and squeeze the excess water out and stick them in the caves.
