Hides are out for the entire season, not just when they're paired up ... if I had just a couple of females I'd probably put the hides back in when the female is by herself (at least until the early spring) ... but because I'm putting 35- 40 males in with girls every time I pairing it just gets to difficult to manage all of those hides coming in and out every couple of days. They're usually so focused on breeding that it doesn't matter much anyway.
