    O Canada.. :)

Canadians; I will be visiting your country this weekend My Mother-and-father-in laws live up near Nappanee (hope I spelled that right!) and we are spending the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend with them! It is always a treat to go up there; we can enjoy the scenery (they live near the Bay of Quinte,) go play Bingo (yes, my dear husband will go too!) and check out the Native American museum and gift shop (they live on the reservation.. great countryside..)
Aside note: everyone at work laughed and said that people will be mobbing our truck because I resemble the singer Avril Lavigne, and she grew up in the area we're visiting.. we'll see how that pans out.. lol. When Mark has his hair down, he vaguely resembles the lead singer of the band Slayer; so if tabloid newspapers start saying that the two are dating, don't be surprised..

Actually it's Napanee, Jen. It's an amazing area for fishing. The whole Bay of Quinte area is pretty nice really. Have a great Canadian Thanksgiving weekend! Remember though the Canadian dollar is really strong right now so you won't get as much exchange on American funds as in the past.

I'm pretty sure the dollars are even now! But the funny thing is... Things still cost more in Canada then they do in the USA.
If you buy a card it says US 1$ CND 1.70$ and for some odd reason you still need to pay 1.70 even though they are even... I heard it's cause the stores bought them months ago so they have old inventory they need to sell before then can change the prices...

So I think you would lose some moolah on some things, but I really hope you enoy your stay! and I hope the weather turns out nice for you!
I can't wait to eat some Turkey! YUM! Well actually I think we are having ham this year! But still just as YUMMY!

    HAPPY Turkey Day!!!
And don't get lost in the woods up here Jen lol

Thanks! lol.. we will try to not get lost. His parents (he sees his stepdad as his real dad) have a few hundred acres on the res.. most of it is cow pasture and is hard to walk throuhg b/c the cows' hooves make indents in the ground that harden! But we can hike in the woods.. his stepdad pulls big bucks and does out of that woods every year.
The funds thing bites.. does anyone know if you can bring gasoline over the border in gas cans? I remember in 2001 we went up there and lived like kings on our American dollars!! People selling things went gaga if you paid in US currency, lol.

Well I asked a buddy next to me at work, and he thinks they shouldn't give you any trouble with the gas... I agree!

I'm pretty sure lots of Canadians used to do it cause gas is cheaper in the US, so I'm sure you should be fine!
I think it's harder going back to the US then it is getting into Canada, but I could be wrong. It's been a while since I crossed.
