VBB AP Enclosures finally here! (DU warning!)

    Squee!! OMG, love!

Man, the beauties *love* these enclosures. The way they open does wonders for my back (no more bending over a tank), they're huge, and they're beautiful. We're gonna keep an eye out for more decor for the beauties now since these big enclosures look so empty! Plus Neptune spent a lot of time tree worshipping, so we think he'd love more... and now we can fit more! These enclosures altogether are the most expensive piece of furniture we own... and worth every penny. Wow. Animal Plastics is great, both the customer service and the product. They're where we'll be getting the hatchling rack from. That'll be our next big investment, but we're not too worried about that till we have a clutch in the incubator or at least a gravid Ma-tsu.

It's the first thing you see when you walk in. It's awesome, lots of room for the snakes to stretch! Surreal. Karen and I sat and watched them settle in for an hour I think. My only worry now is when we do move, entrusting movers to transport them safely!

Neptune gets the top bunk, because I think he'll feel more relaxed if he's higher up. It's less like we're looming over him and he feels less threatened. He's so relaxed already! Ma-tsu's on the lower bunk, because she really couldn't care less either way, lol. It's a blast to watch them cruising.

Neptune decided to tie himself in a knot on the tree for some reason.

Ma-tsu is still putting off shedding, so she was on the slower only mildly curious side. The big wet spot is from my misting her.

The finished cages so far! After we decorate them a bit more, I'll take more pics. The little blue tub is Little Irwin the rubber boa, btw.

Maybe Neptune was a fisherman in his previous life

Nice setup I have a few questions though...

What size is that tank? individualy and as one
What are you using to heat it? (I'm assumiing it's holding heat and humidity well)
    What are your temps/ humidity?

I ask b/c I think I'm going to get a nicer setup for my BP when he grow a little

Re: VBB AP Enclosures finally here! (DU warning!)

lol, yeah, we definitely need a better pedistal but it'll have to wait till we recover from the cages financially.

Each of these enclosures are 72Lx24Dx24H. Which is about 6 feet long and stacked about 48 inches high or so without the pedistal. They're the T20 cages at http://www.animalplastics.com/

The enclosures come with belly heat built in for an extra $45. Well worth it! Both cages are plugged into a Herpstat (sold seperately ) and are set at 85 on the hot side and 75 on the cool side. For a BP, you'd just need to set it higher. It holds humidity awesome, for air there's just a few thin slats on the sides and back. After I mist, it can hold 80% humidity for a good couple of days I think. I still use humid hides anyway though so I don't have to mist as often and they love those hides.

We'd love to get more of these in the future. Smaller ones for the smaller snakes, but still. I'd love to have a whole herp room of these eventually.

Well, technically it's two big tanks but yeah. The height is the two cages together. Beauties are active 8ft wonders, and they are luvin the space.

The belly heat is on one side, and I don't use any kind of special lighting for my snakes. It would dry out these poor tropical snakes out here in Arizona!
