Ahhh...I had my wisdom teeth cut out when I was in high school. Not fun...but not scary either. You'll be fine! Good luck!

if you have a really good surgeon, there should be little to no pain/swelling. I had mine cut out a few years ago, and other than a completely trippy experience at chucky cheese's for my little brothers birthday, there were NO complications. They healed up fast and painlessly. Now about those kids I supposedly scarred for life, now that's a different story. lol

    Re: Surgery today..

Don't worry you will be fine. My husband had his removed recently and it wasn't so bad. Other than the fact that he was on a liquid diet, he loves to eat lol.

What really sucks is getting your tonsils removed...

    EDIT:
I just saw that you were back. Glad to see it went well.

Did they tell you to drink ICE cold water? It will help with the bleeding. Don't forget to keep the gauze in your mouth. If you smoke DON'T...not until its healed over. You do not want dry socket.

Were you put under at least? I couldn't afford it when i had my wisdom teeth done. I had all 4 out plus 2 of the wisdoms grew in sideways and impacted 2 other molars, so i had 6 teeth pulled at once with only general freezing. I was in the dentist's chair for approximately 5 hours with the other work i had done at the time.

Keeping on the topic of surgery, i go under the knife myself for a hernia tomorrow ... i am not looking forward to it.

PS - don't take that gauze out, you don't want the blood plugs to not develop and end up with dry sockets like i had. You then have open jaw bone exsposed to the air which is not much fun ... trust me.
