Just a quick question on feeding!
Hey everyone
Spartan just his first rat pup last night, he was on hopper mice on a 7 day feeding. Anyways, I took spartan to the vet because he has a small case of RI. The vet told me to feed every 5 days. I'm curious to know whats a good time frame for a 4 month old BP.
Thanks
Mitch

7 days is fine also. 5 days is ok too. the big thing is to keep them eating weekly all year long.

This is one of those cases where the answer is "whatever works for you." If he eats every five days...and you can remember to keep track of which days he gets fed....that would be fine. But he'll do just fine eating every seven days as well...and personally, I find it much easier to know that I have to feed my critters every Monday...as opposed to trying to remember how many days it has been since they ate last.

Well Its easy for me to keep track. But the vet said he looks a little under weight. Hes 169 grams, but he ate right after the vet, so I'm not sure right now.

My girl is under weight too. She's probably the same age. And only 100 grams give or take a few. When I got her 2 months ago she was 54 grams. It just seems like she should be gaining more weight than she is.
Vets seen her said she looks good. Gave her a dewormer. I haven't had a fecal done yet.
I feed every 7 days. Maybe 5 would be ok. And I don't object to it. But every 7 days is easier to remember.
I'd say try every 5 days and see how it goes. If you get a few failed feedings try switching back to every 7.
