    Is the weight ok?

I have had my ball python for a pretty long time now. I believe he is a late '06. When I weighed him in April he was 160 grams and now he is about 250-300 grams. I feed him 2 mice a week. Is his weight normal? I got him from a pet store by the way...

Sounds good. One of my 06's hatched 6/21/06 as of 9/5/07 weighed 398g. She has never missed a meal. I have her on rat fuzzys. One every 5 days. So again sounds good to me.

Wow, mine must be growing fast then, it is an Aug. 06 and up to 850g. Just switched from two mice a week to a very small rat once a week.

I Dont Know But I Hear That Rats Are Much Healthier For Our Snakes Then Mice. Whether This Could Be Tied In With The Weight Issue I Dont Know. Imo, I Would Try To Switch The Snake Over To The Same Size Rat(s) And See How That Goes.

There is no nutritional difference between rats and mice besides instead of feeding two mice in one meal you can feed one rat. I stick to rats personally.
