First Wabbit.
The burm I rescued finally! Got a decent meal.
Thoght it was going to be to big at first but he got it down just fine, not he looks so content. I'm glad I can give him a home where he can thrive.

Re: First Wabbit.
That's interesting. I sometimes wonder if my blood python could ever handle a rabbit.
The girlfriend doesn't mind the rats. But she said no to rabbits. Haha
He'll do just fine on rats. But its always interesting to me sometimes to marvel at these creatures ability to EAT!!!
Good luck with him!

My adult female red would eat one 1 lb. f/t rabbit about every three weeks.

Generally you shouldnt feed anything bigger than a small rabbit to a blood, and that is a good size to feed once every 2-3 weeks. You have to remember that these animals have a much slower metabolism than a burmese.

Re: First Wabbit.
I knew about the metabolism of bloods. And I don't mean to steal attention from the original topic. But mine will probably only get fed rats is whole life.
I do find it very interesting to know that even though I have a blood. That will get pretty big. There's other species out there such as the authors that has no problem eating rabbits.
Not that I like watching a snake eat a rabbit. Just that its astonishing of some animals appetite.

Re: First Wabbit.
It's great to have a burm that eats like a burm and doesn't turn down rabbits. IMO, some burms, retics, scrubs, etc turn down rabbits and accept EVERYTHING else....weird.
Congrats....and that rabbit's size is fine.
