    shedding time

How long does it take a blood to shed? I've been watching my boy since he hasn't moved out of his cool side hide for a few days. I noticed a slow onset of the cloudy eyes.

So I'm thinking he's about to shed any minute!! But man its been a good few days he's had the cloudy eyes. Like 3 or 4 days at least.

I guess I'm used to seeing the ball shed and once her eyes are white I get a shed like 2 days afterwards.

Humidity and temps are spot on also.

Bloods that I've seen don't get as blue as BP's do. They get cloudy looking then bam they shed.

    Hey al!!!

Yeah this is your sula about to shed. He's been cloudy for the last few days like I said. And completely immobile. So hopefully he'll shed soon.

It just seems that he's taking longer than the ball does. How long did it take him when he was with you?

Do they have a clearing up phase like balls do before the shed?

It's the same for my snakes. The Ball will shed in no time but the Blood will take a while.

They do seem to take longer to shed then a BP does. Also he normally took about a week to a week and a half to full out shed. They do have a bit of a clearing up phase, but I found it to be quick and didn't always see it happen on him.

    Re: shedding time

Thanks for the info everybody. I'm still waiting on him. I checked on him this morning. No shed yet.

I'm just keeping the humidity up. And keeping an eye on him. Its just a waiting game between me and him now. And he's winning.

    Re: shedding time

You'd soak after days 3 or 4 of the blue eyes stage? I've got humidity steady at 85%. Still soak?

Or are you saying soak 3 or 4 days after they clear up?

30 minutes. An hour? Thanks for all the help. I'd hate to have a bad shed with this guy.

You dont have to. I just do it to mines because mines have a hard time shedding.
