Lie? Truth?
While browsing kingsnake I came across this ad:
http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=68&de=510119
The first paragraph is what really stuck out to me:
"The cypress available at most local hardware, home improvement, and garden center store, has changed. It now has the word BLEND on the bag. After lots of phone calls it has come to my attention that the “blend” is with cedar. The change was made to keep out the bugs in the garden, but is harmful to our reptiles."
Do you think this is true? Or that (s)he is fibbing to get more money for their bag?

Re: Lie? Truth?
some of them do say blend, but still 100% cypress bags are still available. For usually around 3$ a bag... I dont know what she's trying to imply.

Re: Lie? Truth?
I know pro exotics sells %100 cypress.... But when it says blend on it i just dont trust it because the bags at home depot and wal mart dont say what they are blended with.... hope this helps.

Re: Lie? Truth?
The Home Depots here have always sold that No-Float 100% cypress mulch. It's around $2.50-$3 a bag I think. I didn't mind using it but it was a pain to get dry(and sterilized), and I just like newspaper/kraft paper too much

Re: Lie? Truth?
Lowe's & HomeDepot around here both still sell 100% Cypress. Also we have a few other garden shops around here that also sell 100% Cypress. I would stick with the 100% and not the blended kind.
