Re: More corn shots (sunglow male)
You are totally rockin that camera.
I always think cornsnakes look like their smiling at us - even when their mad.
And I'm glad your finding ways to deal with his little foibles without getting bitten.

Re: More corn shots (sunglow male)
Thanks Doc.
One thing's for sure; he is a ravenous little eater. I figure, I have conditioned him to two types of cage entry: One, where rat falls in and he eats. Two, where stick enters, gently picks him up, and he finds himself wrapped around a human.
He seems pretty intelligent when compared to my BPs; not saying they're stupid, but you know what I mean? He is very "with-it" like my BCI; moving eyes, always fully aware of the environment..
Corns do look like they're smiling; with evil little eyes, like they plan to take over the world.

He is stunningly beautiful!!!! I wouldn't mind if he took over the world at all, then we would get to post huge posters of him everywhere. Sounds to me like a good idea!!

Re: More corn shots (sunglow male)
lol; thanks
He was just on the cusp of the beginning of a new shed. He is still in blue (or in red, since his eyes are really not blue) and I will post pics as soon as he is done

Re: More corn shots (sunglow male)
Nice pics, good clear close ups. My corn is marked and colored like yours. I was amazed in the personality difference between him and my BP. Corn is definately more alert to his surroundings, active and interactive to hold. He has never bitten me or tried. I love the little rattlesnake tail thing he does after I feed him and he thinks my peeking at him is a little much. He is great. Yours is beautiful and the pics give me an idea on size, build of the breed.

That is a great example of a sunglow corn. Very nice!

Genetically there is no difference. A sunglow is just a type of amel (though some consider a sunglow to be a hypo amel; but it's generally accepted that this is not always the case). A sunglow corn will have virtually no white (except its belly) and have extremely intese oranges/reds. They are distinctly more vibrant.
With amel stripes and motleys, both tend to have no white. So in their case the no white rule doesn't really apply. But rather it's based on the intensity of the color.
Here's a comparison shot of my male sunglow stripe and my female amel stripe. Note the difference in color intensity. The same sort of color intensity difference is seen in non stripe sunglow vs. amel. (And sorry for the thread hijack, hope you don't mind)

Re: More corn shots (sunglow male)
Ahh, interesting. I was wondering what the difference was since that sunglow (who is really beautiful BTW Jen) looks a lot like my amel.
I, too, have noticed that corns seem so much more alert and "intelligent" than BPs. Nagini cruises her cage and won't notice you unless you move alot. Aries, however, watches everything and you can even see his eyes moving slightly when you pass his tank. It's pretty cool. I love my corn, but boy is he a handful...and taking forever to get hand trained.
Anyway, very very nice snake pix there

Mine too. We were able to get him out and snap a few photos of him, but he was much more interested in cruising around than sitting still.
