    SFE... SLOW Feeding Error

Well, another bite... but this time it was the first from my 6.5' BCI Beethoven. It wasn't so much a Stupid Feeding Error as much it was a SLOW Feeding Error.

I opened his cage and dangled his rat a few inches from his face with 18" tongs like normal, but I guess he wasn't ready for it. He smelled it for a couple seconds like he normally does, and then he struck at it with LIGHTENING fast speed like he normally does. However, this time he missed it for some reason and lunged out about 2' hitting my non-feeding hand.

Of course he instantly realized his mistake and let go, and that gave me just enough time to let out a little-girl scream which my family abruptly ignored. So after I gave him his rat (his aim was more true this time) I ran and got the camera. He is kind of a big guy but I was still impressed by the width of his bite.

Yep, I get that too. Although if it was really serious I would probably yell for HELP!! along with "Get over here NOW!". Hopefully someone in the house would take that serious.

He is a sweetie and I'm never worried about an aggressive strike from him, but I have to say that I've always wondered what a bite from him would feel like. Now I know. I was pretty surprised at that strike range. Maybe next time I feed him I'll take on a fencing pose to get my other hand way out of the way.

I suppose you're right. How about we compromise and I change it to "screamed like a small child."?

Hell Em, if it's during either football season or hockey season I'd basically be dead and gone before Mike would notice anything LOL

    ROTFWL,

I have visions of the next feeding taking place using 3 foot snake hook claspers, helmet and a dustbin lid and looking like a scene from 300.

    Cheers for the pic.

    LOL

Nah, I'll just have one of my sons do it. I'll bribe them with an extra hour of WOW.

    Just kidding!...

    I'll give them two hours.
