I tend to handle my snakes very little. I like to let them alone because it seems like they are always in stages of either being grown for breeding; breeding; gravid; or recovering and gaining weight for the next breeding Or in shed, if none of the above..
I like bringing them out when people come over. I am always one for getting people to touch, see and even hold them.. it is great to have people learn that they are not disgusting slimy monsters. If someone is more timid (like my mom!) I will get a smaller and less threatening one out. For those that like the big ones, I get out the BCI or my larger female.
And of course I take all of them out for periodic weigh-ins and photo ops.
