i guess you can resort to shovelling snow and cutting grass or asking parents for allowance...

Crap! Can you sell things on ebay? I make a nice little side earnings by buying lots of Breyer horses and then selling them off individually.. just a thought. You would probably need your parents to setup a seller's account and help you get started with inventory though.

Re: My Snake Dream Ruined
The only way that we (humans) learn is through living. Often we have bad things happen to us. Accidents occur. S*** happens! I am proud of you that you are willing to replace your brothers iPod.
As to getting a snake, perhaps it would be best to wait until you are able to better afford it. There are - sometimes - extra expenses that are not forseen (like trips to the vet, a broken thermostat, etc.). It might be better for you to get your snake after you have a job. It will certainly be a better experience for you if you know that no matter what happens you have a little money stashed away for those emergencies.
You are being very responsible, and I am glad that you shared with us.

Re: My Snake Dream Ruined
howd you plan on catchin fish while listening to an ipod? you should fish in peace and quiet. but that sucks little dude. shave your head and sell your hair to a wig company. or rob a bank. or get like a polaroid camera and take pictures of people and sell it to them.
