    When good eggs go bad

How long does it take for eggs that are not going to make it to start to degrade? And do they change color, get hard/soft, change shape? Any info would be a great help.

Re: When good eggs go bad

I saw that. Sorry that happened. How long was it before they started to mold? I don't know when mine were laid, and I totally wasn't expecting them, so I'm letting mama sit on them. I'm sure they had been there at least a couple of weeks before I found them. I would guess they are between four and five weeks. They all have good color, so I'm hoping for the best.

They will get a yellowy tint that changes into a greenish and even pinkish hue as the eggs go bad. They get a certain bad smell to them also.

Re: When good eggs go bad

I guess I'm just paranoid. I would really like to see these eggs hatch. The temps and humidity are good, so I guess its out of my hands, as if it was ever in them. Thanks all.

Re: When good eggs go bad

just leave it until it turns green. Im not an expert but if you think an egg will go bad, put it in another seperate container and see what happens.
Ive read someone who thought he had a bad egg, but turns out a cool morph.

    good luck
