    help

    ok. got a few questions.

    1st.

My snake eats regularly once a week, small mouse. i weighed him for the first time today and he is at 75 grams. He just ate yesterday, so does that tell anyone anything about his age?

    also.

my snake has started to soak alot and i havent seen any mites or anything in the water untill today. there were two. so im about to head to walmart and get some stuff to make a tub for the little guy and use some paper towels to watch for mites.

so my question is where could i get a t-stat and heat tape or whatever its called? like home depot?

    Re: help

ok lets see if this will help...

1st a 75g snake is very young. my hatchlings that are about a month old are in the 60-70g range, so he is defiantly a youngin'.

2nd you need to pick up a can of Provent-a-mite, this is the BEST way to kill mites. you can get it from http://www,beanfarm.com or maybe google it and see what comes up. and remember to follow the directions EXACTLY as written.

3rd thermostats are flexwatt can be ordered online at http://www.reptilebasics.com . Rich is a great guys and will hook you up with affordable products and fast shipping, and not to mention so A+ customer service.

    hope that helps.

    Re: help

For the mites you need to take care of them ASAP, most people will recommend PAM (Provent-A-Mite) this will completely eradicate the problem treating all the stages of development of mites. Here is where you can purchase it http://entirelypets.stores.yahoo.net/proventamite.html

Heat tape and thermostat can be purchased here http://www.reptilebasics.com/home.php

    Re: help

You can use a latchable 15 quarts tub from walmart it will work great for your BP, for the hides you can use 2 plastic flower pot saucers.

    Re: help

As far as Provent-a-mite goes, i'll let ya'll in on a little secret. Go to WallMart. In the camping section, they have a product called "Repel Permanone". It is chemically exactly the same a provent-a-mite. It currently comes in an orange and blue can, and it is roughly 1/3 the price. Follow the normal provent-a-mite directions.

No it is not exactly the same product as PAM!

Provent A Mite is the only product designed for it's use with reptiles the other one is not.

Here is a debate PAM Vs other products found in your local grocery store.
