Rosys
Does anyone have a good care sheet for Rosy boas? The only kind of useful one I have found says that it's important to keep humidity in line (duh), but it doesn't say what the humidity should be!
I've heard some folks say they're nice, easy snakes, and others say they're difficult to keep and prone to RIs. Any input, suggestions, comments... pictures?
Thanks.

Humidity
If you live in an area of higher humidity than their native range (60%), you should consider an enclosure with a top or one or two sides made of mesh, or that has solid sides with ventilation panels that may be opened and closed as necessary to keep in warms but provide enough ventilation to keep humidity levels down. In such climates, substrates such as the mulch and aspen may not be suitable as they tend to maintain a slightly higher humidity level than do wood chips. Being kept in humidity higher than they are adapted to can cause skin problems (bacterial or fungal infections) and the stress of being kept in such conditions may lead to illness.

Re: Rosys
Thanks, but I've seen those. So does that mean anything under 60% is okay? While I'm no expert, that sounds a bit off to me for a desert snake...

From the other sheets i'm looking at, it is saying nothing over 60% because it can lead to some type of infection. 60% & under fits a desert. i live in the south- heat & humidity are totally different. if you've ever been down here in the summer/fall as compared to out west you would definatly understand. humidity is how much water is in the air- and being a desert, there is not much. compared to down here the air is as thick as watermelons lol!
i would just go with what these sheet's are saying and nothing over 60% at least. if i find anything else for a more exact % i'll totally let you know. hopefully someone here that keeps them and knows a bit more can fill you in.
