Re: Male vs Female... Which do you prefer?

Females because I am too male-heavy... hahaha

But actually when I think about my collection in particular, most of my males are more outgoing than my females.

Re: Male vs Female... Which do you prefer?

Right now I'm going to be at 6.7 and after this breeding season I should be at about 6.10 or 11. So far my preference with female's is their eventual size annd of course I will be needing them for breeding in the future. Big female's are super cool!!

    Very good point Aleesha!

I also agree with Robin that it depends what your plans are and what you already have. If recessive, I try to always go for the female first because she has to grow up a couple of years before being ready to breed. If co-dom, I tend to buy the male. But then again, if a particular snake catches my eye, all that good advice goes right out the window!

Re: Male vs Female... Which do you prefer?

In the end, male or female, morph or normal...they all produce snake poop. So I figure since you'll be picking that up for a pretty good number of years....choose the snake you personally love!

Re: Male vs Female... Which do you prefer?

correct me if I am wrong, but aren't males more likely to go off feed for periods of time as adults than females are? I believe it's part of their breeding instincts to fast...... so females might be a bit easier on the nerves

I think I am preferring males....I like a more slender body shape.
This is all just aesthetics talking....I don't have enough experience with keeping snakes to have any other basis for preference

my male BP is quite outgoing though...that was an interesting observation someone posted earlier.

Re: Male vs Female... Which do you prefer?

I'd probably choose a male since, like someone said, they stay smaller than the fems.

Boy, people sure like making polls around here...not that its a bad thing; just making an observation (shields head from thrown produce).
