    Juicers unite!

i bought myself a juicer yesterday... and i loooove it. anyone else juice and if so, what are some of your favourite recipes.

i'm planning on doing a juice flush (fast) in the next while, until then i'm replacing a few meals a day with juice. i've been so sick lately and i need to kick start my health again.

but i need some more recipes and i'd love to hear your experiences with juicing.

    Re: Juicers unite!

mmmm do you just use a blender or a juicer for this mix?

did you know that you are never supposed to mix fruit and veges... except apples, for some reason they are okay to have with veges.

i don't make the rules... i just learn 'em

still, i'd love to try that juice... it sounds wonderful! *although you can't juice bananas*

Some juicers can't use banana, others can - mine does it fine.. Toss the banana in the blender with the rest of the juice.

You can mix fruits and veggies if you drink it right away. Otherwise the acids mix and turn it bad with no preservatives...

If you want just veggie though:
equal: tomato, carrot, celery, cucumber, red pepper, green pepper and one lemon wedge
Once juiced add: 3 drops tobasco per glass, 1/4 tsp celery salt, 2 pinches cayenne pepper, 1 pinch cumen - stir and drink

    Re: Juicers unite!

    mmmmmmmm that sounds yummy!!! thanks!

sorry i was talking about not mixing veges and fruit from a juice fasting (flush) perspective. all the literature i've read says to keep them separate (except apple). i should have made that more clear.

i don't know if mine can do banana... i had read you never juice a banana and so i'll have to give it a try thanks adri!

    Re: Juicers unite!

If your juicer manual says *not* to do banana... blend them with the juicer juice... it will give it a thicker texture and the banana tastes amazing... They need to be at the point of turning brown and really soft though. If the juicer says not to do it, it's because it doesn't have the capability for thicker juices, and will mostly just send it all to the pulp junker
