He finally shed!
I've been waiting for that skin to come off since I got him less than a week ago and it just did. Now he is still roaming around in his hide with a small piece still on his tail. And man did he crap, I'd never seen snake crap before and I'm suprised at the size (It looks like a freaking tootsie roll). Anyway, my questions are...
What's the best method for getting excess skin off of their tails?
How long should I wait to handle him/remove old skin/clean the crap (assuming all 3 of these will be done at once)?
How long before I try to feed him? (I haven't had the chance to yet, but he's young and due for a feeding)

Yes, you can clean the skin and poop and everything now. Fun stuff, that!
As for the stuck skin...first, just try to gently rub your fingers down his tail and see if you can get it to roll off. If it's stubborn, don't force it. Place him in a small tub with about 1/4" to 1/2" of water that is just barely warm to the touch. Let him swim/soak in that for a little while, and see if that stuck skin doesn't just slide right off.
After that, I'd give him another day or two to settle down and then see if he is interested in eating.
Good luck with him!! Let us know how it goes.

Awesome, thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to wait or not. I can't wait to take a good look at him he's so much brighter.

So I was able to get the excess skin off with my fingers after dipping him in some warm water. It took several tries but I think he appreciated it.
