    Wild caught hatchlings

I dunno if my new baby pastel male is a wild caught or not...he was about 75 grams when I got him a month and a half ago...temps are perfect, humidity also...made it nice and dark, quite too...looked at him weeks ago and he looked like death..took him to the vet and she said to tube feed him so I have on 3 different times....he finally pooped but it's pretty runny and he will not even look at hopper mice...I have the meds for deworming snakes, but it reqally pisses me off if this is a wild caught, when I was told it was CB.

Who did you get it from,

Did they provide genetic and heritage papers with the animal ???

actually I got it from a breeder that was suggested to me...I have called him and left continuous e-mails, but with no returns...I own 20 b/p from pastels and spiders and never has it ever gotten this bad..I talked to a breeder that I deal with in Texas and he said a lot of the Florida breeders have gotten a ton of imports from adults to hatchlings and have been selling them.

I am so sorry to hear you are having all these issues...and I wish I had some vast experience that could help

I would suggest you post the experience with this "breeder" in the feedback section so others don't end up having to go through what you have by dealing with him.

    This is true!!!

Who is this breeder and have your tried to get back with them. I had a pastel that took two months to get feeding regularly for me. With Daytona loads of breeders have been just slammed getting ready for that. Its not an excuse to ignore your customer but it could be the reason.

    Re: Wild caught hatchlings

If were you I would assist feed him a small hopper mouse or pinky rat. I think tube feeding provides more stress than nutrition. Just place the pinky him his mouth and try to get the pinkies head just past the jaw. Then you can place the snake back in his cage and he should finish eating it on his own. It may take a few trys but he will eat it and it will be much better for him than tube feeding.
